Zidane: "Messi? Cristiano Ronaldo is the best"

Zinedine Zidane gave an interview to Mexican sports paper Récord in which he revealed his lofty standards at Real Madrid and praised the quality of the squad at his disposal.

The French coach did not hold back when asked to compare Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, stating categorically that "Cristiano Ronaldo is the best". "Messi is his rival and that rivalry is good for football. It's what people want to see", he went on.

"Many things are said about Cristiano, but deep down he is a good person", Zidane added, before outlining his high expectations of himself and his charges at the Bernabéu: "We set out to win every match. That's Real Madrid's goal".
