ISIL Military Convoys Destroyed in Syrian, Russian Air Raids in Raqqa

"The Syrian and Russian air fleets carried out several combat flights over the militant-held territories in Raqqa province and targeted their logistic and supply columns, which not only ended in the destruction of many vehicles, but slowed down the militants' movements in the region," the army said.
"In the meantime, the Syrian army's missile and artillery units shelled the militant centers in the small town of Zakiyeh, which claimed the lives of several militants," the army further added.
Reports said earlier today that the Syrian army and the National Defense Forces , backed up by the Russian and Syrian fighter jets, drove the ISIL militants back from several strategic heights in Raqqa province.
The Syrian government forces stormed the ISIL defense lines near the small town of Zahiyeh and seized back three strategic heights and several hills in the region.
The Syrian and Russian warplane in a fresh round of join combat flights had pounded the ISIL positions near Zakiyeh to weaken the terrorists' defense capabilities.
The ISIL left behind many dead and wounded members and fled the battlefield to evade more casualties.
The Syrian government forces continue to advance against the rest of ISIL fighters in the battlefield.
