Russian Planes Airdrop Humanitarian Aid over Syria's Deir Ezzur
The airdropping operation was carried out after
ISIL militants did not comply with demands by the international
community to end the sufferings of Deir Ezzur's residents by stopping
the siege, local sources said on Tuesday.
The humanitarian aids are part of the operation
conducted jointly by Russia, the Syrian government, and their allies to
help civilians in the cities which are blockaded by the terrorists.
Meantime, the Syrian army has intensified
operations against militants' positions around the city of Deir Ezzur,
and Syrian soldiers who have the support of popular forces are pushing
back the ISIL militants to retreat toward the city.
Scores of foreign-backed militants, in a recent
operation, were killed or wounded on the outskirts of Deir Ezzur after
the Syrian Army shelled their positions and outposts.
The Syrian army and popular forces launched heavy
artillery fire on the terrorist camps in al-Janinah town, on the
outskirts of Deir Ezzur, killing and injuring several militants.
Also, terrorist headquarters in al-Haviqa and al-Roshdiyah regions came under attack by the Syrian Army's artillery units.
In a relevant development on Sunday, fierce
clashes erupted between the popular forces and the ISIL in a town
Eastern part of Deir Ezzur after the latter tried to arrest one of the
officials of the town.
